Role description
Strategic Analytics Analyst
3 month Contract
$35-40/hour DOE
Hybrid, Universal City California
We are seeking a Strategic Analytics Analyst to join the Decision Sciences team at a Fortune Broadcast Media & Entertainment organization. In this role, you will be a key contributor on a high-performing analytics team with a unique charter: using data to power decision-making for high-profile, cross-functional initiatives across the entire organization. You will work hands-on with large, complex datasets to support executive reporting, measure business performance, uncover actionable insights, and conduct customer segmentation analyses β all while building strong relationships with stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Content, and beyond. This is a role for someone who is as comfortable digging into raw data as they are presenting a compelling story to senior leadership.
Minimum Qualifications:
β’ Bachelorβs or Masterβs degree in Business Analytics, Marketing, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or another relevant quantitative field.
β’ 2+ years of experience querying and analyzing large, complex datasets, with strong data visualization and storytelling skills.
β’ Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Python, and Tableau or equivalent data visualization tools.
β’ Strategic thinker with the ability to derive clear conclusions and actionable recommendations from raw data.
β’ Self-starter with strong attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, accountability, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
β’ Team-oriented and collaborative, with a genuine willingness to learn and grow.
β’ Experience with customer segmentation and KPI reporting is a plus.
β’ Familiarity with data science techniques is a plus.
β’ Background in analytics for direct-to-consumer businesses (video streaming, eCommerce, or subscription) is a plus.
Responsibilities:
β’ Query and analyze complex datasets to develop actionable insights that enable data-driven decision-making across multiple teams within a large media organization.
β’ Apply a broad range of analytics and data science techniques β from descriptive to prescriptive analytics β to solve real-life business problems.
β’ Support standard reporting needs, including dashboard development, to provide ongoing visibility into the health of the business.
β’ Execute ad hoc analyses to answer critical, time-sensitive business questions and identify areas of strategic opportunity.
β’ Synthesize data into clear, easy-to-consume visual and verbal storylines for key stakeholders across Marketing, Product, Content, and more.
β’ Conduct customer segmentation analyses to drive cross-functional strategy and inform growth initiatives.
β’ Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative analytics team that champions a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Whatβs in it for you?
β’ High-visibility role on a Decision Sciences team with a direct line to executive-level reporting and cross-functional strategy at a Fortune Broadcast Media & Entertainment organization.
β’ Opportunity to work across a broad portfolio of streaming and media brands, gaining exposure to large-scale consumer analytics.
β’ Collaborative, high-performing team culture that values intellectual curiosity, data-driven thinking, and continuous learning.
β’ β’ Meaningful work with tangible impact β your analyses will directly influence growth strategy and business decisions at scale.
