About The Role
The Sr. Game Data Analyst role at PlayStation Studios Mobile (PSSM) is a vital position responsible for supporting the analytics needs of a growing portfolio of mobile games. This remote position, based in the United States with PST working hours, involves collaborating with internal studios and external partners to optimize game performance and player engagement. The primary focus is on leveraging data to drive strategic decisions, improve live game operations, and support the development of new titles. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in free-to-play mobile game analytics, with a proven track record of contributing to successful titles. They will be tasked with analyzing virtual economies, player progression, and creating predictive models to enhance player engagement and acquisition strategies. The role requires strong communication skills to translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders across all organizational levels, including designers, product managers, directors, and executives.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of professional experience as a Game Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar role in the free-to-play mobile gaming industry.
• Proven success in optimizing mobile game performance and player engagement.
• Expertise in Analytics Implementation, Player Progression, Virtual Economy, and Pricing Optimization.
• Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests and User Acquisition campaigns.
• Strong knowledge of data pipeline evaluation, implementation, and optimization.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex insights clearly and effectively.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with internal studios and external partners during game development to ensure comprehensive and optimized analytics schemas are implemented on time.
• Identify and uncover hidden insights to improve game experiences for millions of players worldwide.
• Lead end-to-end data projects, including defining key questions, extracting data, ensuring data quality, and visualizing complex datasets to derive actionable insights.
• Prioritize and manage a research roadmap in partnership with product managers and designers, providing critical insights to support game development and live operations.
• Automate repetitive analytics tasks such as KPI reporting and market data analysis to increase efficiency and focus on strategic research.
• Partner with cross-functional data teams to support various workstreams, sharing best practices and supporting technological advancements in game analytics and business intelligence.
• Stay at the forefront of analytics methodologies and emerging technologies, advocating for their adoption within the organization.
