Data Analyst – Data Flows & Reporting (Contract/Fixed Term) Location: Horsham, UK Role Type: Data Analyst About the Role We are seeking a Data Analyst to map, analyse, and document end-to-end data flows across a complex reporting environment. The role focuses on understanding how data moves from source systems through transformation layers into reporting dashboards, with a strong emphasis on data lineage, documentation, and impact analysis. A key objective of this role is to support the evaluation and potential replacement of an existing reporting layer, including defining future-state reporting requirements and assisting with transition planning. Key Responsibilities • Map and document end-to-end data flows from source systems through to reporting outputs • Produce and maintain detailed data lineage documentation • Analyse reporting usage patterns and dependencies across dashboards and datasets • Work with stakeholders to understand current reporting needs and future requirements • Provide recommendations for reporting improvements and potential replacement solutions • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate interpretation of data pipelines and transformations • Support analysis required for reporting platform transition or decommissioning activities Required Experience • Proven experience analysing end-to-end data flows in complex data environments • Strong SQL skills for investigating source data, transformations, and pipelines • Hands-on experience with BI or reporting tools (Qlik Sense preferred) • Strong understanding of data models, transformations, and reporting dependencies • Experience producing data lineage documentation and technical analysis outputs Key Skills • Data analysis and investigation • SQL (advanced level) • BI/reporting tools (ideally Qlik Sense) • Data lineage and documentation • Stakeholder engagement • Analytical thinking and problem-solving Candidate Profile We are looking for someone who is: • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills • Comfortable working with complex and interconnected data systems • Able to translate technical findings into clear documentation and recommendations • Collaborative and confident working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Methodical in approach, with strong documentation discipline Success in This Role Success will be measured by: • Clear and accurate mapping of end-to-end data flows • High-quality data lineage documentation • Actionable insights into reporting usage and dependencies • Support for defining a future reporting strategy • Effective collaboration with technical and reporting teams
