Data Analyst (Contract) –

Hays is looking for a detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team on a 6-month contract. In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and optimize reporting frameworks, validate data integrity, and deliver actionable insights that drive strategic decisions.
What You’ll Do
• Maintain and enhance Excel-based tools for forecasting, performance tracking, and reporting
• Streamline data workflows using structured logic and programming principles
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency across models and systems
• Optimize performance of large Excel workbooks using advanced formulas and Power Query
• Document processes and logic for transparency and scalability
• Support ad hoc reporting and analysis requests using Excel and complementary tools
What You’ll Bring
• 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, business operations, or technical reporting
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Power Query, pivot tables, dynamic arrays, charts)
• Familiarity with programming concepts (loops, conditionals, modular design)
• Experience with SQL and analyzing complex datasets
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Bonus Skills
• Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
• Exposure to ERP systems or financial modeling
• Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., VBA, Python) for light automation tasks
