Data Analytics Analyst 2

Job Description Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst / Business Intelligence Analyst with 3–5 years of professional experience working with cloud-based data environments, enterprise reporting, and analytical datasets. The ideal candidate is a strong problem-solver who can work independently, collaborate with data engineers and SMEs, and support enterprise analytics through high-quality data modeling, validation, and visualization. Key Responsibilities • Work with large, complex datasets to support enterprise reporting, dashboards, and analytics products. • Build, optimize, and maintain advanced SQL queries including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, and performance tuning. • Support data pipeline troubleshooting by identifying data quality, ingestion, or transformation issues and driving root-cause analysis. • Develop analytics-ready datasets using solid data modeling principles (fact/dimension structures, wide vs. narrow table design, etc.). • Prepare data optimized for dashboards and self-service analytics tools. • Validate data accuracy by comparing cloud datasets to operational source systems. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data issues and ensure reliable data flows. • Assist with dashboard/report development in platforms such as Power BI or Tableau. • Translate business questions into efficient analytical datasets and actionable insights. • Manage and prioritize multiple data requests and investigations simultaneously. Required Experience • 3–5 years in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field. • Hands-on experience working with large datasets in a cloud-based environment. • Experience supporting enterprise dashboards and analytics products. • Demonstrated ability to identify and troubleshoot data quality, ingestion, or pipeline issues. Technical Skills SQL (Advanced — Requied) • Complex joins, CTEs, window functions • Performance optimization • Writing reusable, well-documented queries Cloud Data Platforms Experience with one or more: • Databricks • Azure Synapse • Snowflake • BigQuery • Understanding of data ingestion into cloud storage and analytics layers Data Modeling & Transformation • Fact/dimension modeling • Designing data structures for analytics • Preparing datasets for dashboards and visualizations Data Quality & Validation • Identifying discrepancies between source and cloud datasets • Facilitating root-cause analysis Analytics & Visualization • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms • Strong understanding of how data structure impacts visualization performance and usability Soft Skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Clear written and verbal communication, especially when explaining data issues • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks Preferred Qualifications • Hands-on experience with Power BI • Experience with the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, ADLS) • Experience with PySpark or Python for data analysis or transformations • Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration • Experience with Git or similar version control tools • Basic understanding of data governance, lineage, and metadata management Industry & Domain Experience • Experience in utilities, energy, infrastructure, or other regulated industries • Familiarity with operational, asset, or time-series data • Experience working with imperfect, legacy, or operational source systems Professional Attributes • Experience mentoring junior analysts or providing technical guidance • Ability to effectively translate business needs into analytical requirements • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
