Job Description:
This position will support the Enterprise Decision Support and Data Governance (EDGE) organization.
As a data analytics analyst, this role will work with business and technology stakeholders to review functional and non-functional requirements and design and develop data analytics reporting solutions while also translating functional requirements into deliverables that provide actionable insights.
This role will be responsible for identifying appropriate data sources and mapping specifications, validating completeness and data accuracy, and producing appropriate visualization and output vehicles.
This role will also collaborate with other technical team members to create and maintain a data catalog owned and maintained by the EDGE organization, as well as assist the organization with testing, training, and operation of data solutions.
Work Arrangement:
This position follows a hybrid work schedule.
Contractors are required to be in the office Monday - Thursday.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide functional and technical expertise in the use of ERP platforms, ETL, and database sources.
Develop the appropriate reporting solution(s) that meet the specific business need using SQL, Excel, Power BI, and other standard end reporting.
Provide data analysis insights as input to strategy development across the SCG organization.
Collaborate with business and technology personnel to gather requirements and access workflows & processes to develop analytics-based reporting solutions for integrations, transformations, and deliverables.
Maintain the EDGE reporting database and other routine extracts and databases.
Clearly communicate data-supported insights and KPI tracking of business objectives through advanced data visualization and interactive dashboarding.
Be a change agent using data supported recommendations to implement best practices and process improvement.
Promote and be a champion of Safety-First safety initiatives for the work team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education:
Bachelorβs Degree in Business, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or other relevant analytical field, or equivalent work experience.
An Advanced degree is a plus.
Experience:
2 years of experience in data management, data extraction, report creation, and/or strategic data governance.
Intermediate to advanced experience in SQL, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and other database and reporting tools.
Intermediate to advanced experience in programming languages R and Python.
Intermediate to advanced experience with FME and Esri (ArcGIS Pro and Model Builder)
Working knowledge of Data Science concepts and Machine Learning.
Strong analytic skills with demonstrated work experience in data mining, query writing, and visualization.
Intermediate knowledge in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot) and applications within the MS Office Suite.
Proficiency in Maximo, Oracle, and other ERP systems.
Advanced data visualization proficiency in Power BI and MS PowerPoint.
Experience working cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization.
Executive-level presentation skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication of complex analytical concepts.
General natural gas/utilities industry knowledge and/or experience a plus.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to interpret complex data sets into actionable insights.
Ability to inform and influence stakeholders based on findings.
Collaboration with multiple business functions.
Possess at least intermediate level of skills in Strategy Development, Strategy Execution, Project Management, Relationship Building & Influencing, Communication, Presentation, Team Building, Cultural Awareness, and Change Management.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and manage competing deadlines.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong ability to communicate business objectives to executive leadership.
