Data Analytics Engineer

Start Date: Immediately Duration: 1–3 months (potential to extend) Location: Remote About Syntropi We collect and curate high-quality video datasets for training AI models. Our pipelines process thousands of videos daily, managing everything from sourcing and annotation to quality control and delivery. About the Role We need an Analytics Engineer to help us monitor, visualize, and optimize our video ML pipelines. You'll build internal dashboards that surface key metrics, automate data quality checks, and create tools that help our team understand model performance and contributor output. This is a high-impact contract role for someone who loves turning messy data into clean insights and building tools that teams actually use. What You'll Build • Internal dashboards to monitor pipeline health, model metrics, and data quality in real-time • Data visualization tools for exploring video dataset patterns and performance trends • Automated reporting and alerting for pipeline anomalies and contributor performance • Quality assurance workflows for human-in-the-loop annotation and feedback • Scripts and utilities to streamline data analysis and reduce manual work Requirements • Strong Python skills and experience with SQL • Data visualization experience • Practical understanding of ML metrics • Independent, pragmatic, and comfortable moving fast in an early-stage environment Nice to Have • Experience with Airflow • Familiarity with GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI) • Prior work with video/image datasets or annotation platforms • Exposure to LLMs and prompt engineering • Track record of building internal dev tools or data platforms To Apply Email lucy@syntropi.ai with: • A brief intro (what excites you about this role) • Links to relevant work (dashboards, internal tools, data projects) if available • Your availability and contract rate We review applications on a rolling basis and move quickly.
