About This Position
We are looking for a motivated professional to work in our Budget and Corporate Procurement Division (BGT) as part of the Budget and Administrative Services Department (BDA). Reporting to the Budget and Corporate Procurement Division Chief, the primary role of the Data and Visualization Sr Associate/Specialist is to develop and perform analytics pertaining to budgeting and procurement functions, enhancing effective risk-based decision making and enhancing information transparency.
What you’ll do
• Promote a Culture of Analytics: Foster a data-driven environment to enhance decision-making and transparency.
• Data Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to continuously enhance data sources, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Dashboards: Create and maintain dashboards to track budget metrics and monitor financial performance and procurement activities. Regularly review and update dashboards to ensure their relevance and usefulness.
• Support for Queries: Provide data mining support for inquiries from Senior Management and client Departments.
• Data Governance Guidance: Offer support and guidance on data governance matters, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis: Generate ad-hoc reports and perform analysis to meet specific business needs.
What you'll need
Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Data Science, Mathematics, Procurement, Finance, Project Management, or other relevant fields.
Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in the field of data analytics and reporting, data mining, data modeling and projections, data governance, with expertise in visualization tools and reporting, specifically in MicroSoft’s PowerBI.
Languages: Proficiency in English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
Note: Job level (grade) will be determined based on relevant experience.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration
International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
