Role description
Overview
We’re looking for a senior Cloud & Data Architect with an AWS‑first background to help design and guide enterprise‑scale cloud, data, and machine learning platforms.
This role is focused on architecture and technical leadership, not day‑to‑day coding. You’ll work closely with engineering, data science, security, and business teams to design secure, scalable AWS solutions that support modern data pipelines and machine learning workflows.
What You’ll Do
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to business and engineering teams
• Lead architecture decisions for cloud, data, and ML platforms
• Help teams migrate and modernize workloads on AWS
• Design high‑level application, data, and deployment architectures
• Define best practices for cloud security, CI/CD, containerization, and cloud‑native design
• Partner with Security and Compliance teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards
• Create technical diagrams, architecture documents, and implementation roadmaps
What Kind of Architect We’re Looking For
You’re someone who has:
• Strong experience designing AWS‑based solutions
• Built or supported data platforms (data lakes, streaming, analytics)
• Worked with or enabled MLOps / ML platforms (you don’t need to be a data scientist)
• Experience designing microservices and event‑driven systems
• Comfort working in large, enterprise environments
Key Technical Experience
Cloud & Architecture
• 5+ years as an architect working with AWS (primary) or Azure
• Experience with enterprise cloud security, CI/CD, containers, and cloud‑native patterns
• Bonus if you’ve worked across AWS, Azure, and GCP
Data Platforms
• Data lakes, data warehouses, or large‑scale data platforms
• Real‑time or near‑real‑time data streaming
• Working with different data types (structured and unstructured)
MLOps / ML Platforms
• Designing or supporting ML pipelines and platforms
• Experience with tools like SageMaker, Domino Data Labs, MLflow, or similar
• Understanding of model deployment, monitoring, and governance
Microservices & AWS Services
• Microservices and distributed systems
• AWS services like EKS, ECS, Lambda, Kinesis, S3, RDS, DynamoDB
• Event‑driven architectures and high‑availability systems
Experience & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
• 10–12+ years total experience in engineering, architecture, or technical leadership
• AWS certification strongly preferred
• TOGAF or security certifications (CISSP) are a plus, but not required
