Role description
Job Title: Data Architect Location: Tallahassee, FL Engagement: Long-term Contract Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities β€’ Analyze and validate existing data models and interfaces to assess impacts from modernized data architecture β€’ Design and implement enterprise data models aligned with business processes and reporting needs β€’ Review, enhance, and optimize ETL processes to improve data quality, accuracy, and timeliness β€’ Implement and enforce robust data quality standards for production systems β€’ Collaborate with development teams to deploy revised data models and resolve integration issues β€’ Provide guidance on data visualization and reporting best practices to improve business insights β€’ Act as a liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, OOT, and OIT, ensuring clear communication on architecture changes and timelines β€’ Mentor team members and provide technical leadership in data architecture and integration best practices β€’ Drive continuous improvement by defining data roadmaps, standardizing methodologies, and supporting strategic initiatives β€’ Align data architecture with the state’s cloud-first initiative, ensuring scalability and cloud compatibility Education β€’ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field β€’ Relevant work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in place of formal education Required Experience β€’ 7+ years of experience working with large, complex database management systems β€’ 7+ years of experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Analyst, including: β€’ Data modeling β€’ ETL design, development, and maintenance β€’ 10+ years of broad experience with enterprise databases such as: β€’ Oracle β€’ SQL Server β€’ DB2 β€’ Strong background in financial data systems, including: β€’ Data modeling β€’ Data governance β€’ Data quality management β€’ Proven experience with: β€’ ETL tools β€’ Data warehousing β€’ Automation of data processes for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness β€’ Hands-on experience with data visualization and reporting best practices, using tools such as: β€’ Power BI β€’ Tableau (or similar platforms) β€’ Familiarity with cloud-based data integration solutions, including: β€’ Azure β€’ Snowflake Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience working with DB2 systems β€’ Experience with Informatica or other modern data integration platforms β€’ Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions β€’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
