Data Architect Engineer (AWS / Python) - Charlotte, NC Charlotte, NC $65-$72 / hr on W2 Is Position Remote?: No Job Description Data Architect Engineer (AWS / Python) position! This is a 6 months contract-to-hire opportunity and will be hybrid in Charlotte, NC. What You'll Be Doing: β€’ Design and implement cloud-native data architectures on AWS, including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time data processing pipelines for a highly customized, non-out-of-box solution β€’ Build and maintain scalable integration layers and API integrations to support analytics and reporting systems across the organization β€’ Develop, deploy, and manage AWS Lambda functions and AWS Glue jobs written in Python, ensuring efficient serverless operations and performance optimization β€’ Define, build, and test scalable ETL/data pipelines leveraging AWS services including S3, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Athena, Snowflake, and Glue β€’ Proactively communicate data-related scenarios and potential issues to business stakeholders, including audit trail management and data quality concerns β€’ Collaborate with development, analytics, and reporting teams to develop robust data models that feed business intelligence tools β€’ Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data-related issues and optimize data storage and retrieval for large-scale distributed systems β€’ Ensure data security, compliance, and privacy policies are integrated into all solutions while maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and architecture diagrams What You'll Need to Have: β€’ 5+ years of experience in data architecture, engineering, or similar roles with strong expertise in designing and implementing AWS-based data solutions β€’ 3+ years of hands-on Python programming experience with proven ability to write, manage, and optimize production-level code β€’ 3+ years in an ETL or Data Engineering role building and implementing data pipelines with strong SQL query writing skills β€’ Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, AWS Glue, and other AWS services (S3, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Athena, Snowflake) β€’ Strong understanding of design best practices for OLTP systems, ODS reporting needs, and dimensional database modeling β€’ Solid experience with both SQL and NoSQL database technologies, with proficiency in writing efficient queries β€’ Proactive communication skills with the ability to identify and articulate data-related scenarios, risks, and recommendations to business stakeholders β€’ Highly self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities β€’ AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable
