We are seeking a Data Architect / Business Analyst with deep insurance analytics experience to support enterprise data and reporting initiatives. This role serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that Snowflake-based data solutions align with insurance business processes, actuarial models, and analytics needs.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working with insurance datasets, strong SQL and Snowflake expertise, and the ability to assess and improve data quality, structure, and documentation in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as a liaison between business, actuarial, analytics, and engineering teams
• Analyze insurance and actuarial datasets to identify data quality issues, gaps, and inconsistencies; recommend remediation strategies
• Ensure data solutions align with business goals, actuarial models, and reporting requirements
• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
• Design and maintain system diagrams, data flows, and architecture documentation
• Perform data wrangling and transformation to prepare datasets for analytics and reporting
• Define and document metrics, table structures, lineage, and update processes
• Partner closely with Snowflake engineers and analytics teams to ensure data integrity, usability, and performance
• Support analytics and reporting initiatives by ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and well-governed
Required Qualifications
• Strong experience working with insurance data
• Advanced SQL skills with hands-on Snowflake experience
• Experience using Python for data manipulation and analysis
• Strong understanding of data structures, metrics, and ETL/update processes
• Ability to create clear, concise technical documentation, including data flows and system diagrams
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Experience working cross-functionally in complex data environments
Nice to Have
• Experience supporting actuarial models or reserving, pricing, or claims analytics
• Familiarity with data governance or regulatory reporting in insurance
• Background working in hybrid architect / analyst roles
