Role description
Data Architect | Databricks | AWS | BFSI
We're hiring a Data Architect to design and scale cloud data platforms for a regulated enterprise environment.
This role owns the architecture, not just the build. You'll design Databricks-based processing frameworks, set the standards for PySpark and SQL across the team, and build governance into the platform from the ground up using Unity Catalog and AWS IAM.
What you'll work on:
• Architecting ETL/ELT pipelines and Databricks workspace design for enterprise-scale analytics
• Building data governance and security frameworks covering classification, access, encryption, and retention
• Designing dimensional models and semantic layers for BI consumption (Tableau)
• Standing up MLOps pipelines and CI/CD workflows (GitLab)
• Mentoring engineers on Spark optimization and cloud-native design
• Partnering directly with product owners, architects, and analysts to turn requirements into working architecture
What you bring:
• 8+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or database design, with real depth on the Databricks platform
• Strong AWS cloud data experience
• Expert-level data modeling and integration pattern knowledge
• Track record designing for scalability, security, and performance in complex, regulated environments
• Ability to communicate architecture decisions to both engineers and executives
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
This sits in a highly regulated environment, so experience navigating compliance and audit requirements alongside technical delivery is a real advantage.
