Role description
Our client in Northern NJ is seeking a Data Architect / Business Analyst with strong actuarial analyst experience and a proven background working with insurance data. This role bridges business and technology, ensuring data solutions align with organizational goals and deliver actionable insights.
This role is not eligible for employer-sponsored work authorization (e.g., H-1B, OPT, CPT, etc.) or transfer. Candidates must have valid U.S. work authorization
Data Architect/Business Analyst
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams.
• Oversee system solutions to ensure alignment with business processes and objectives.
• Analyze and assess insurance-related datasets to identify data quality issues and recommend remediation strategies.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements.
• Develop system diagrams and data flow documentation to support analytics and reporting initiatives.
• Perform data wrangling and transformation tasks to prepare datasets for analysis.
• Document metrics definitions, table structures, and update processes for transparency and consistency.
• Partner with engineering and analytics teams to ensure data integrity, usability, and scalability.
Required Skills:
• Proven experience in insurance analytics and data quality assessment.
• Strong SQL expertise, with hands-on experience in Snowflake.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation and analysis.
• Ability to create clear, concise documentation, including data flows and system diagrams.
• Strong understanding of data structures, metrics, and update processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across diverse teams.
Bonus Skills:
• Experience with dbt (data build tool) for modern data transformation workflows.
