Role description
Job Description: Data Consultant
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Consultant with a strong background in Machine Learning, data consolidation, and reporting across varied ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. This consultant will play a critical part in enabling weekly forecasting for a key business unit. The consultant will take fragmented, cross-platform data, support the buildout of reporting pipelines (leveraging Microsoft Fabric where possible), and deliver scalable forecasting solutions using appropriate machine learning algorithms.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze data consolidated from 16 different ERP platforms into the client enterprise data system, including domains such as invoicing, open orders, inventory, manufacturing, AP, AR, and accounting.
• Partner with business and IT teams to understand friction points—especially relating to demand planning and forecasting.
• Cleanse, stage, and transform raw reporting schema in an on-premise data warehouse (and as migrated to the developing data lake).
• Build machine learning models from scratch in Python to enable demand planning and sales forecasting.
• Utilize Microsoft Fabric (preferred) to design and automate data pipelines for model training and reporting outputs.
• Generate, validate, and iterate on weekly forecasting reports in collaboration with operational business units.
• Document methodology and hand off models/reports for ongoing integration into Salesforce and SAP planning systems.
• Advise on best practices for standardizing business processes and optimizing future reporting/forecasting solutions organization-wide.
Required Experience and Skills:
• Demonstrated experience in consolidating complex, multi-ERP enterprise data environments.
• Solid hands-on expertise in machine learning for demand planning or sales forecasting—preferably within a manufacturing or supply chain setting.
• Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, modeling, and visualization.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric for data orchestration and reporting is highly desirable.
• Experience with data lakes, reporting schema development, and semantic modeling.
• Understanding of business systems integration (Salesforce, SAP) a plus.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders and to work collaboratively in a changing environment.
