This role supports a critical initiative focused on building a new, centralized dataset from fragmented and unstructured data to improve how Discover partners onboard and manage business relationships.

Role Overview
This role is focused on creating a new dataset and analytics framework from the ground up to support onboarding and operational workflows for business partners.
You will partner continuously with stakeholders to understand their data, define structure, and develop accessible tools (Tableau / Excel) that support day-to-day business operations. The emphasis is on data creation, organization, visualization, and enablement, rather than maintaining existing reports.
What Youβll Do
β’ Partner closely with business operations teams to understand onboarding and workflow data needs.
β’ Intake and assess unstructured, incomplete, or fragmented data from multiple sources.
β’ Design and build a structured dataset or database to support improved onboarding and organization.
β’ Clean, normalize, and transform data to ensure accuracy and usability.
β’ Write SQL queries to extract, join, and analyze data (preferred).
β’ Use Python (preferred) to support data transformation or automation when needed.
β’ Create clear, accessible dashboards and tools using Tableau and Excel for business consumption.
β’ Translate raw data into insights that improve operational visibility and decision-making.
β’ Iterate on data models and reporting based on ongoing partner feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ SQL experience (2β3 years preferred).
β’ Python experience for data transformation or automation.
β’ Experience working with Snowflake (current data lake) is a plus.
β’ Salesforce experience is a plus but not required.
β’ Background in financial services, banking, or payments is a plus β but not required.
β’ Bachelorβs degree preferred (important for future FTE consideration).
