Data Engineer - FTC
Our client is a leading global investment management firm with over three decades of experience in active investing. Managing over £120 billion in assets across five continents, they are committed to investing for a better tomorrow and delivering exceptional outcomes for their clients worldwide.
As a Data Engineer, you'll drive the development of a modern data platform using industry-leading cloud technologies.
You'll be instrumental in delivering the firm's vision of becoming a fully technology-enabled and data-literate organisation, working within an evolving Technology team responsible for both day-to-day operations and strategic technology initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Architect, design, and deliver modern data platform solutions
• Support existing and new data platforms alongside software engineers, data engineers, and data analysts
• Write and review code as a hands-on technical contributor
• Build strong relationships across Technology and the wider business through successful delivery
• Work in rapid proof-of-concept style with stakeholders, adopting a fail-fast, iterative approach
• Collaborate with IT leadership, Engineering Leads, and Product Owners to define and execute technology strategy
Essential Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (Honours) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related technical discipline
• 5+ years of professional experience with programming languages such as Python or C#
• Proven experience with modern data technologies including Data Bricks, Azure Synapse, Data Lakes, Snowflake, or modern data warehouses
• Passion for technology and desire to work within high-performing teams
• Strong collaborative mindset and commitment to collective success
• Prior knowledge of Asset Management or Financial Services industry
