Role description
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for Data Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite full-time in Peoria, IL (Monday–Friday). This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $54.70/hr + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a Data Engineer to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and data integration efforts. This engineer will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of business analytics data pipelines and dashboards used across key operations. The role includes Power BI dashboard development, SQL/ETL support, and collaboration with business partners to transform data into actionable insights. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on data engineering, problem-solving, and building trusted data solutions within a collaborative analytics team.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, including back-end modeling, data validation, visualization design, and secure publishing
• Perform SQL development and ETL support for analytics projects
• Work with partners to understand data needs and deliver dashboards, automated reports, or one-time analyses
• Design data architecture components that support scalable reporting and data access
• Test programs or databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications
• Modify and support existing databases and data management systems
• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and work with developers/analysts to implement changes
• Collaborate within a global team interacting with internal/external stakeholders
Required Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in Computer Programming, Data Engineering, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2–4 years of experience in data engineering or business intelligence
• Strong experience with SQL, including fluency in database queries
• Experience with Power BI or Tableau
• Experience in data pipeline design, ETL tools, and data modeling
• Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Experience with databases such as Snowflake, Azure, Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL
• Technical writing and documentation experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Python for analytics or ETL automation
• UX/UI experience related to dashboard or analytics design
• Experience in large-scale analytics environments
• Experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or Data Scientist
