Role description
Our confidential banking client is seeking a Data Engineer to build, optimize, and support cloud-based data platforms, ingestion pipelines, and real-time data processing solutions. This is a HYBRID contract in Toronto
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines
• Support real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures
• Build and optimize data workflows within AWS environments
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and support production data platforms
• Implement data quality, security, and governance controls
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and business teams
Required Skills
• Strong experience with Amazon S3
• Hands-on experience with AWS Glue and Apache Spark
• Experience with Apache Kafka and streaming data architectures
• Expertise with Amazon Redshift and Amazon Athena
• Experience with AWS Step Functions and/or Apache Airflow
• Strong understanding of AWS IAM, Lake Formation, and data security
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise data pipelines
• Strong performance tuning and troubleshooting skills
Preferred
• Banking or financial services experience
• Knowledge of data governance and regulatory environments
