Role description
Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Duration: 5 months (Contract-to-Hire) Location: Rutherford, NJ (Hybrid) Role Overview: Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines, ETL workflows, and SQL-based data solutions while ensuring data quality, governance, and system reliability in a large enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities: • Design and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows. • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and data transformations. • Build data validation, quality checks, and QE automation. • Troubleshoot data issues and support cross-platform integrations. • Collaborate with business and technology teams to deliver reliable data solutions. Required Skills: • Strong expertise in SQL and ETL. • Hands-on experience with Apache Spark (PySpark), Hive, Impala, and Cloudera. • Experience working with Parquet and Avro data formats. • Proficiency in Python (Java is a plus). • Strong understanding of data warehousing, data validation, and Quality Engineering (QE). Preferred: • Risk or Wealth Management experience. • Big data technologies and distributed data processing. • Experience in enterprise data governance and cross-functional environments.
