Role description
Role: GCP Data Engineer
Location: Houston, TX (Onsite/Hybrid as required)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Required Qualifications:
Level 2 (Intermediate):
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in data engineering, ETL, or data analysis roles delivering production-ready data pipelines.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL with hands-on experience building and optimizing data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and tools.
Level 3 (Senior):
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering, ETL, or data analysis roles.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for large-scale data processing.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and data pipeline optimization.
Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Strong sense of ownership, initiative, and continuous learning.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience in the utility or energy industry.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (required).
• GCP or Cloud-related certifications (preferred).
