Data Engineer (Contract)
Location: Gloucester (3 days on-site per week)
Rate: Up to £550 per day (Outside IR35)
Duration: 6 months
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days on-site, 2 remote
Our client, a leading global organisation, is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support the evolution of their data platform. This contract offers the opportunity to work on high-impact data projects using modern tools and cloud technologies within a complex, enterprise-scale environment.
What you’ll do
• Design, develop and maintain robust data architectures and pipelines.
• Administer and optimise the Snowflake Data Warehouse.
• Build and enhance ELT workflows using dbt and Fivetran.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and data models to support business insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and governance.
• Conduct data analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
What we’re looking for
• Proven experience with Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and Power BI.
• Strong SQL programming and data modelling skills (Kimball dimensional modelling).
• Solid understanding of ELT processes and data pipeline orchestration.
• Experience in data governance and documentation best practice.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
