Role description
Data Engineer (Exposure Management) - Contract - Up to £550 per day - Inside IR35 Our client, a well-established Lloyd's managing agent, is seeking a Data Engineer to provide technical ownership and support for their Exposure Management technology estate, including in-house and third-party catastrophe modelling platforms. This is a hands-on role encompassing SQL development, production support, and automation across business-critical month-end and daily operational processes. The successful candidate will work closely with Exposure Management, Product, Engineering, and DBA teams as part of the organisation's transition to a product-centric technology operating model. Responsibilities: • Technical support for exposure management and catastrophe modelling applications • Investigation and resolution of failed runs, data quality issues, and production incidents • Development and maintenance of SQL processes, stored procedures, and data integrations • Ownership of month-end reporting and aggregation timetables • Driving automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention and operational risk Requirements: • Advanced T-SQL — stored procedures, query optimisation, performance tuning, SQL Agent jobs • ETL/data integration experience (SSIS or equivalent), file-based processing, SFTP transfers • Reporting stack — SSRS or Power BI • Git/Azure DevOps, CI/CD exposure • Python or PowerShell advantageous Desirable: • Exposure management, catastrophe modelling, or underwriting domain knowledge • London Market insurance experience
