The postholder will work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, developing innovative BI products, data assets, and automated reporting solutions. The role involves designing and delivering clear, insightful, and visually effective outputs that support organisational decision-making and improve understanding of operational performance and patient outcomes. Working across both on-premises and cloud environments, the postholder will utilise a range of tools and technologies including T-SQL, Python, Qlik Sense, Looker, and Google Cloud Platform. The postholder will also lead on data engineering activities, support the development of junior staff, and ensure that all outputs meet agreed standards, governance requirements, and best practices. Main duties of the job This role will participate in the provision of complex Data Engineering services working within the Business Intelligence environment The role will require the postholder to translate business needs into technical requirements alongside the development of Data Engineering products The postholder will produce data engineering tools and pipelines to enable wider aspects of the Business Intelligence (BI) environment including migration to Cloud services. This role will participate in the provision of high-quality Data Engineering services within the Business Intelligence units as part of the wider Information Services Team. The role will require the individual to translate business needs into technical requirements alongside the development of Business Intelligence products Develop and implement orchestration tools such as Directed acyclic graph (DAG) to automate data management across cloud and on-prem environments. The postholder will produce pipelines and products to enable wider aspects of the Business Intelligence Environment. This role will require the development of production ready data assets within On-Premises and Cloud environments Undertake technical evaluation and troubleshooting for role related products. Experience Essential criteria • Extensive experience in the design, build, test, modify and maintain data pipelines and data stores creating complex or large-scale data products.
