We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with prior healthcare industry experience to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data platforms that support analytics, reporting, and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong data engineering fundamentals and experience working with healthcare datasets and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines
• Build and optimize data architectures supporting analytics and reporting needs
• Integrate data from multiple healthcare systems and sources (EHR, claims, clinical, or operational data)
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across data platforms
• Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders
• Implement data validation, monitoring, and error-handling processes
• Support data modeling and database optimization
• Maintain documentation for data workflows and architecture
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and security requirements
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer
• Prior experience working in the healthcare domain (provider, payer, or health-tech environments)
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases
• Experience with data pipeline development using Python, Spark, or similar technologies
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data integration processes
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Understanding of healthcare data standards and compliance (HIPAA awareness)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with healthcare data formats (HL7, FHIR, claims, EHR data)
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or modern data warehouses
• Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools (Airflow or similar)
• Exposure to data visualization or analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau)
