Title: Data Engineer Client: American Automotive Company Duration: 11+ months contract with HIGH chance for extension or become permanent. Work Location: Warren, MI (Hybrid - 3 days onsite, M&F remote/WFH) Pay rate: $54-58/hr W2 + Benefits and PTO Top Required Skills • Expert SQL skills across Postgres and Oracle systems • Unix shell scripting and Oracle SQL integration • Databricks or Power BI experience • Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience General Job Description: The Connected Operations team is entrusted with protecting the customers connected vehicle experience from purchase through the full lifecycle. Within Technical Operations, this role is focused on ensuring customers have exceptional performance and experiences when using vehicle-connected services. In this fast-paced and growing AI environment, we foster innovation, leverage data analytics, and value attention to detail, accountability, and proactive problem-solving to continuously improve the services we provide. Daily activities for this role include • Metric review and impact analysis • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) methods to derive insights • Extensive data analytics on big data and cloud platforms using big data methodologies • Report and dashboard creation • Bug and incident creation and tracking • Technical triage support • Ad hoc investigations • Requirements gathering • Working with application subject matter experts and product teams to support digital customer experiences • Identifying issues, recommending solutions, and escalating when appropriate Top must-have skills for success in this position • Curiosity and a strong desire to understand the activity behind the data sets • Love for complex problems and the ability to recognize patterns • Ability to identify a problem, assess impact in a timely manner, and advise stakeholders of possible actions • API and semi-structured data handling • Familiarity with KPI design and metric definitions • Exposure to AI-assisted analytics Required tools and technical skills • Expert SQL skills across Postgres and Oracle systems • Unix shell scripting and Oracle SQL integration • Experience with cloud data platforms, including Microsoft Azure • Databricks experience or Power BI • Python
