Immediate need for a talented Data Engineer, AI & Supply Chain. This is a 17+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in California (Remote). Key Responsibilities: β€’ Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). β€’ Build and optimize data solutions using Dataproc, BigQuery, SQL, and dbt. β€’ Develop and maintain high-quality data models that support reporting, analytics, and AI use cases. β€’ Ingest, transform, validate, and publish data from multiple enterprise source systems. β€’ Collaborate with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Data Architects, and engineering teams to understand business requirements and deliver scalable data solutions. β€’ Develop reusable data transformation components and adhere to established engineering standards and best practices. β€’ Optimize data processing performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. β€’ Perform unit testing, data validation, and production support to ensure data quality and operational stability. β€’ Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and code reviews. β€’ Document technical designs, data flows, and implementation details. Key Requirements and Technology Experience: β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. β€’ 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering. β€’ Hands-on experience developing data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). β€’ Strong experience with: β€’ Dataproc β€’ BigQuery β€’ SQL β€’ dbt (Data Build Tool) β€’ Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques, including dimensional modeling and analytical data warehouse concepts. β€’ Experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and processing large datasets. β€’ Familiarity with software development best practices, including Git-based version control and CI/CD. β€’ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. β€’ Excellent communication and collaboration skills. β€’ Experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration. β€’ Experience integrating with Apache Kafka or other event streaming platforms. β€’ Working knowledge of PySpark for distributed data processing. β€’ Experience using Python for data engineering, scripting, and automation. β€’ Knowledge of data quality, metadata management, and data governance principles. β€’ Domain Experience (Highly Desirable) β€’ Experience in one or more of the following domains is highly desirable: β€’ Retail industry (Apparel) β€’ Supply Chain data platforms β€’ Transportation and Logistics β€’ Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) β€’ Distribution Center operations β€’ Desired Attributes β€’ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. β€’ Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional Agile teams. β€’ Commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable, and scalable data solutions. β€’ Eagerness to learn new technologies and continuously improve engineering practices. β€’ Customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
