Job Title: Azure Data Architect Location: Remote Employment Type: 6-Month Contract Pay Rate: $40/hr Role Overview: BEPC is seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect to support a customer in designing, building, and optimizing enterprise-scale data platforms on Microsoft Azure. This role is ideal for a senior data professional who can shape cloud data strategy, establish architecture standards, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that support analytics, AI, and business intelligence initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Design and implement end-to-end data architectures in Azure, including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time data processing solutions - Architect, build, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, and related Azure services - Define and enforce best practices for data governance, security, compliance, and platform reliability - Integrate data from multiple enterprise sources, including ERP systems, APIs, IoT platforms, and databases - Partner with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions aligned with business objectives - Evaluate Azure-native and third-party tools to improve platform performance, scalability, and cost efficiency - Drive modern data practices, including streaming, real-time analytics, and AI/ML-ready architecture - Provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentorship to data engineering teams - Ensure data platforms maintain high availability, strong performance, and operational resilience Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field - 7+ years of experience in data engineering, including 2+ years in a data architecture or technical leadership role - Strong expertise with Microsoft Azure data services, including: - Azure Data Factory - Azure Synapse Analytics - Azure Data Lake Storage - Microsoft Fabric - Azure Databricks - Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python - Experience with data modeling methodologies such as star schema, Data Vault, and normalized models - Strong understanding of distributed systems and large-scale data processing - Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in data environments Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with real-time data streaming tools such as Azure Event Hubs or Kafka - Knowledge of Power BI or other enterprise business intelligence platforms - Familiarity with machine learning pipelines and MLOps practices - Azure certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Contract Details: - Duration: 6 months - Location: Remote - Pay Rate: $40/hr About BEPC: BEPC Inc., founded in 2007, is a 100% employee-owned company providing top-tier consulting and staffing solutions across industries like technology, engineering, manufacturing, and project management.
