Role description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
β’ Migrate dbt models from Redshift and Snowflake to Trino (Iceberg)
β’ Refactor SQL syntax and optimize data models for Trino compatibility
β’ Manage version control of dbt models using Git
β’ Collaborate with analytics and engineering teams to validate and test model migrations
β’ Ensure data model performance and adherence to best practices
β’ Support Tableau assets and align data sources with new infrastructure
β’ Participate in daily standups and execute migration priorities
β’ Provide clear communication and guidance to stakeholders during migration
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
β’ Minimum 2 years of experience in data engineering, BI, or analytics
β’ 1+ years of experience in financial services and/or SaaS environments
β’ Strong proficiency in SQL across Redshift, Snowflake, and Trino (Iceberg)
β’ Experience with dbt, including model development, macros, and Jinja templating
β’ Proficient in version control using Git
β’ Experience with BI tools such as Tableau
β’ Strong communication skills and ability to guide teams through infrastructure changes
β’ Experience working in startup environments is a plus
