About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer (Data & Cloud) with a strong background in data engineering, API development, and AWS cloud technologies. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about building robust, scalable data platforms and optimizing cloud-based solutions for high-impact business applications.
As a key contributor, you will design, develop, and optimize data-driven solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Purview, and other modern data services to support enterprise-level data initiatives within a dynamic financial and insurance environment.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Design and implement data pipelines, APIs, and backend systems using modern cloud technologies (AWS preferred).
β’ Develop and maintain data integration and transformation solutions leveraging Microsoft Fabric, Purview, and related tools.
β’ Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Architects, Analysts, and DevOps to deliver end-to-end data solutions.
β’ Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with enterprise and regulatory standards.
β’ Optimize system performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency within the cloud environment.
β’ Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremonies, promoting engineering best practices.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues related to data processing or integration.
Required Skills & Qualifications
β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (Masterβs preferred).
β’ 5β8 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Data Engineer with a focus on APIs, data services, and cloud-based systems.
β’ Proven experience with AWS Cloud services (Lambda, S3, Glue, Redshift, IAM, etc.).
β’ Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala for backend and data engineering development.
β’ Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.
β’ Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Purview, or equivalent modern data governance and analytics platforms.
β’ Expertise in SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization for large-scale data systems.
β’ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and modern DevOps practices.
β’ Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to scalability, maintainability, and performance.
Preferred Skills
β’ Experience in the financial services or insurance industry.
β’ Knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2).
β’ Exposure to Snowflake, Databricks, or Azure Data Services.
β’ Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
