Data Engineer

Job Description: Data Engineer, Process Mining (Celonis) Sutoer is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer with expertise in process mining to join our client’s team. We are committed to using data-driven insights to optimize and automate our core business processes. This is a long-term contract opportunity (remote or hybrid) for a hands-on technical professional who will play a critical role in strengthening our case-centric process mining and automation initiatives. The Role You will work closely with business stakeholders, data analysts, and process experts to design, build, and optimize the data infrastructure that powers our process mining efforts. You will be responsible for creating reliable and scalable data pipelines, developing robust Celonis data models, and ensuring data integrity across end-to-end business processes. Your work will enable our teams to gain actionable insights and drive continuous process improvement. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain performant and scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various source systems into the Celonis platform. • Utilize Celonis Data Integration to build and optimize complex data models, ensuring data accuracy and consistency. • Collaborate with business analysts and process owners to translate business requirements into technical data specifications for process mining analyses. • Write and optimize SQL queries and Celonis's Process Query Language (PQL) to support the development of Celonis analyses and dashboards. • Develop Python scripts to perform data cleansing, complex transformations, and automation tasks within the data pipeline. • Implement and monitor audit processes to ensure data integrity between source systems and the Celonis platform. • Provide ongoing technical support for the Celonis platform and assist end-users with data-related technical issues. • Adhere to best practices for data governance, access rights management, and platform security. Required Skills and Experience • 2+ years of hands-on, practical experience with the Celonis platform, including Celonis Data Integration and developing data models. • Solid experience with SQL programming for data extraction, transformation, and query optimization. • Proficiency in Python scripting for data manipulation, automation, and complex data processing. • A strong understanding of data engineering principles, ETL/ELT processes, and data modeling techniques. • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is preferred. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. • Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Desired Qualifications • Celonis Data Engineer certification. • Experience with other process mining tools or methodologies. • Familiarity with various enterprise applications (e.g., ERP systems like SAP) as data sources. • Experience with cloud-based data technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). • Experience in the consulting field or a similar role working with multiple clients.
