Data Engineer (Contract)

Data Engineer - Outside IR35 - Contract - SC ESSENTIAL A rare opportunity to join our fast-growing technology company selling high-value software development services. You will be working within a Government department as part of an existing team to support the rollout of a new Database. Must have • Several years' experience with data modelling, data mapping, and defining data standards • Experience working with complex, multi-organisation data landscapes • Track record of delivering clarity in the presence of ambiguity • Experience working with senior stakeholders to define strategy Nice to have • Experience working with central and/or local government • Familiarity with housing / property / regulatory datasets • Experience implementing data standards that have already been defined Your approach • You are passionate about delivering great technical quality, whether building greenfield solutions or improving the quality of legacy systems • You hold your work to a high standard, with careful attention to visual quality, accessibility, and performance. • You are excited by helping stakeholders achieve their goals through use of technology • You enjoy collaborating with designers and product owners to innovate and devise great technical solutions to meet user needs • You are comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced, changing environments £500-600 per day outside IR35 Start date: 25/05/2026 End date: 07/09/2026 About Softwire Softwire is a leading UK technology and strategy consultancy.
