Data Engineer

Role Overview We are looking for a Data Engineering Manager (Program Manager track) who combines strong hands-on data engineering expertise with program/delivery leadership experience. This role will lead the Semantic Layer & Reporting Enablement workstream, ensuring engineering milestones are delivered on time, risks are proactively managed, and data assets are production-ready for analytics and business intelligence consumers. If you have deep Snowflake + DBT + semantic modeling experience and have recently moved into program/delivery leadership, this is the ideal opportunity. Key Responsibilities Delivery & Program Leadership • Serve as delivery lead for the Semantic Layer/Reporting track • Execute engineering deliverables against program roadmap and timelines • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies • Track milestones, dependencies, and RAID logs • Provide executive-ready status updates to AVPs, CIO, and leadership Technical Oversight Provide hands-on guidance across: • Snowflake data pipelines (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers) • DBT transformations & configurations • Semantic view modeling for BI/reporting • Testing, validation, and data quality frameworks Stakeholder Collaboration • Partner with engineering teams and internal stakeholders • Attend daily scrums (onshore/offshore teams) • Remove blockers and ensure smooth delivery • Align with PMO, cloud vendors, and change management teams • Act as bridge between engineering and program leadership Team Leadership • Mentor engineers • Ensure accountability and quality delivery • Drive best practices and process improvements Required Qualifications Experience • 6+ years in Data Engineering + Delivery/Program Leadership • Proven success leading Snowflake-based data platforms • Experience managing distributed and consulting-led teams Technical Skills • SQL, Python, PySpark • Snowflake (data modeling, performance tuning, RBAC, Bronze/Silver/Gold architecture) • DBT transformations • ETL/ELT tools (Airflow, Informatica, Glue, ADF, etc.) • Data pipeline testing and quality frameworks Leadership Skills • Risk & delivery management • RAID logs and milestone tracking • Executive communication & stakeholder reporting • Strong business + technical translation ability Preferred Qualifications • Reporting/analytics/visualization tool experience • Semantic/reporting layer architecture experience • Technical or project management certifications • Experience working with consulting partners (Deloitte preferred) • Background in financial services, mortgage, or regulated industries
