Title: Data Engineer Location: Peoria, IL Workplace type: 100% onsite (M-F, 40 hour work week) Type: Contract Pay: $45-47.99/hr w2 IV type: 2 rounds Length: 12 months Screenings: no tech, full panel drug and background once hired +optional benefits Must haves: β€’ Basic knowledge of logical data modeling and physical data modeling. β€’ Basic knowledge of computer software, such as SQL, Visual Basic, Oracle, etc. β€’ SQL fluency β€’ Power BI or Tableau experience β€’ Data pipeline design and architecture, with experience using common ETL tools β€’ Associate's degree in computer programming or a relevant field required. Bachelor's degree preferred. β€’ 2-4 years experience required. β€’ Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills. β€’ Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time. Summary: The main function of a data engineer is to ensure that the data assets of an organization are supported by an architecture that supports the organization in achieving its strategic goal. A typical data engineer is responsible for setting enterprise standards for databases, data integration, and the means to get to the data. Job Responsibilities: β€’ Test programs or databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications. β€’ Modify existing databases and database management systems or direct programmers and analysts to make changes. β€’ Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions. β€’ As a Data Engineer within the TIS Strategy and Commercial team, you will assist in the design, development, testing, and deployment of business analytics data for some of the most used applications at (client name removed) and across our dealer network. With over 200,000 users worldwide and 2 million page views every day, our systems are the backbone of dealer and customer product support operations. Through your expertise and insights, you will identify and interpret trends and patterns to influence strategic and application development decisions. This position also offers the opportunity to work with and influence our dealer network in their key service business decisions. Typical task breakdown β€’ :Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, performing tasks such as report design, back-end development, data validation, front-end visualization, and publication with proper security credentials β€’ Work with various business partners to understand data needs and devise the appropriate solution whether that is a dashboard, a one-time report, an automated report, or something else β€’ Collaborate with the team to solve challenging problems and independently manage projects to meet expectations and deadlines from partners β€’ Interaction with team: Global team interacting with internal/external stakeholders β€’ Team Structure: Three-person analytics team Education & Experience Required: β€’ Years of experience: 2-4 β€’ Degree requirement: Associate's degree in computer programming or a relevant field required.
