You’ll be part of a highly skilled Modern Workplace Engineering team responsible for shaping and maintaining the Microsoft 365, Azure, and core infrastructure that powers the business. With a strong focus on innovation, automation, and service excellence, this is an environment where your technical expertise will have a real impact. Your New Role As a Modern Workplace Engineer, you’ll design, develop, implement, and support the organisation’s Microsoft 365, Azure, and essential on‑premise infrastructure. You’ll work across device management, collaboration tools, identity and access, cloud services, automation, networking, and security. You’ll contribute to new solution designs alongside Technology Architects, drive best practice across IT Support, interface with teams across the business, and mentor junior colleagues. From developing new capabilities to improving reliability and minimising outages, you’ll play a key role in delivering a robust, modern, and scalable digital environment. You’ll be involved in: • Managing and enhancing M365, Azure, Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, and Jamf • Supporting collaboration, unified comms, endpoint security, and cloud services • Automating processes using PowerShell, PowerApps, GraphAPI, Python • Designing and documenting technical solutions in line with engineering standards • Supporting implementations and driving efficiencies from 365 services • Acting as a 3rd‑line escalation point for Modern Workplace issues • Ensuring systems are secure, recoverable, well‑maintained, and compliant • Working in an Agile environment with Jira and Confluence toolsets What You’ll Need to Succeed • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure services • Knowledge of device, application, and data management technologies (Intune, SharePoint, OneDrive, Jamf) • Understanding of collaboration and comms tools (Teams, PSTN, Exchange Online) • Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell essential; PowerApps/GraphAPI/Python desirable) • Solid grounding in security tools such as Defender XDR • Familiarity with cloud platforms, networking (WAN/LAN/WiFi), and on‑premise essentials • Strong documentation skills and experience with Jira/Confluence • Customer‑focused approach with strong communication and stakeholder skills • Ability to self‑manage workload, follow best practice, and work within Agile methodologies
