Data Engineer

Data Engineer Excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in cloud-based data pipelines, Java microservices, and data platform migrations. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to support data migrations, build scalable data tools, and ensure smooth transitions for customers moving to our next-gen platform. Candidates will need to be highly motivated, creative, self-directed, and thrive in small project teams. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Dataproc, BigQuery, and Dataflow. • Collaborate with teams on data migration projects, moving customer data to a new cloud-based platform. • Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot-based microservices supporting the data engineering ecosystem. • Work with DevOps tools like Jenkins for CI/CD and Datadog for monitoring and alerting. • Build internal tooling to support platform operations and ensure data integrity during migration. • Partner with product and platform teams to deliver robust, efficient, and secure data solutions. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production and development environments. • Write clear technical documentation and contribute to best practices in engineering standards. This is a 6 month contract opportunity with the option to extend or convert at the end of the contract. Candidates can sit hybrid in St. Louis, MO working 3 days/week onsite. REQUIRED SKILLS: • Proven experience in data engineering and java development. • Hands-on experience with Dataproc, BigQuery, and Dataflow. • Strong programming skills in Java and experience with Spring Boot. • Experience building and deploying microservices architectures. • Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures. • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and monitoring tools like Datadog. • Experience working on data migration projects is a strong plus. • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
