Role description
TITLE: Data Engineer
LOCATION: Remote
START DATE: Immediately

JOB SUMMARY:
The Data Engineer (DE) will possess advanced knowledge in healthcare data archiving services and data ETL manipulation.
Data Engineers are responsible for various tasks such as extracting, translating, and loading data from varied EMR systems. They will collaborate with multiple teams among different departments to ensure timelines are met across the board and escalate any project risks. The DE will be responsible for providing all deliverables outlined in a projectβs statement of work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
β’ Import and export data to and from multiple data sources
β’ Write queries, stored procedures, jobs, and functions to support all types of servers
β’ Uphold compliance with security measures regarding PHI (protected health information)
β’ Configure and design data appropriately for a clinical environment
β’ Create database objects such as tables, views, indexes, triggers, and stored procedures while ensuring data integrity, scalability, and data quality
β’ Resolve data issues and facilitate data analysis
β’ Identify and assist in resolving all operational-related issues with peers within the Data Services team and adjacent teams in the organization and organize raw data
β’ Conduct complex data analysis and report on results
β’ Develop analytical tools and programs
β’ Identify design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
β’ Work with stakeholders, including the Executive, Product, Data, and Development teams, to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
β’ Create data tools for analytics and data services team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader
REQUIREMENTS:
β’ 5+ years of experience in data engineering and development
β’ 2+ years in a healthcare-oriented business
β’ Detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking
β’ Timely with tasks and well-versed in technical explanations to a non-technical audience
β’ Understanding of relational databases, data conversion, and data cleansing methodologies
β’ Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
β’ Reliably work remotely on deadline-driven tasks
β’ Experience with MS-SQL, MySQL, Oracle, DB2, and Postgres
β’ Thorough understanding of healthcare and billing terminology
β’ Proficiency in popular data engineering languages including Python, R, SQL
β’ Experience in cloud-hosted SAAS (Software as a Service) industry
