Role description
Our client a London Market insurer is seeking a Data Engineer to join their team for an inital 6-month contract. Essential Requirements (Must-Have) • Proven experience within the London Market insurance sector. • Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server (2019 or later), including SSIS. • Solid background in SQL database architecture and structured/relational programming. • Practical use of Git or similar version control tools in a development environment. • Sound knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL methodologies. • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into effective reporting and data solutions through design, build, and delivery phases. • High level of numerical aptitude with the ability to work confidently with complex data. • Comfortable working collaboratively within cross-functional teams that include both technical specialists and business stakeholders. Desirable Skills (Nice-to-Have) • Familiarity with Jira or comparable work management and tracking tools. • Exposure to MongoDB or other NoSQL database structures. • Experience using ServiceNow in an IT or business support context. • Knowledge of Business Objects and/or Crystal Reports for reporting solutions. • Understanding of SQL Server administration tasks and best practices. • Previous experience with Microsoft Access and Visual Basic. • Awareness or practical understanding of finance and actuarial workflows and processes.
