

Data Engineer
Data Engineer Contract - Hybrid - Saint Paul, MN
This is a 6-month contract position which will be focused on building out Snowflake and Databricks within the company's environment and requires skills in both of these platforms as well as Python.
This is hybrid position with 2-3 days per week onsite in Saint Paul, MN (Tuesday and Wednesday onsite required).
Candidates must be local to the Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN area and must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship for the duration of the contract. This is a W2 contract and is not available on C2C/C2H.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and build robust data pipelines supporting both RDBMS and NoSQL structures.
• Collaborate on the development of the company's data analytics and cloud migration initiatives.
• Provide expert input on the migration of on-premise databases to Azure cloud.
• Assist in modernizing data architecture by bridging traditional and cloud-based solutions, including evaluating new tools and platforms.
• Support and troubleshoot existing ETL processes; participate in the on-call rotation for production environments.
• Develop clear, concise technical documentation and maintain strong collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Optimize performance of existing pipelines and contribute to performance tuning efforts.
• Communicate effectively with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and align solutions with business goals.
• Support a collaborative team culture, offering and receiving help as needed.
Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and Python for data engineering tasks.
• 5+ years of experience with SQL Server, including DDL/DML scripting.
• 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining SSIS packages.
• 3-4 years of experience with Azure SQL.
• 2-3 years of experience using Azure Data Factory.
• 1-2 years of experience with NoSQL or Data Lake technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Solid understanding of performance tuning concepts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
• Degree in Data Engineering or related field.
