Data Engineer | Remote | £300 - £310/day We're working with a renowned global consultancy powerhouse on this exciting opportunity. We are looking for a data specialist who can bridge the gap between complex data architecture and actionable business intelligence. This is a high-impact contract role where you will leverage Power BI and SQL to transform massive datasets into interactive, high-performance dashboards. You will be the technical lead on data modelling projects, ensuring that global stakeholders have the insights they need to drive billion-dollar decisions. The Role • Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI. • Translate complex business requirements into technical data models using DAX measures and advanced visualisations. • Collaborate with the wider engineering team to streamline data pipelines and ensure data accuracy across Data Warehouses and Data Lakes. • Perform deep-dive data validation and ad-hoc analysis to support strategic global initiatives. • Maintain rigorous documentation including data dictionaries, metrics definitions, and governance standards. What You'll Need • Extensive experience in Power BI development, including expert-level DAX and report building. • Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex querying, data validation, and trend analysis. • Strong mastery of data modelling concepts, specifically Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and Fact/Dimension tables. • Hands-on experience working within modern Data Warehouse or Data Lake environments. • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain technical data insights to non-technical business leaders.
