Contract to Hire

Who are seeking a Jr Data Engineer that demonstrate great communication skills, curiosity, and a desire to learn a new business and its supporting technical processes. Three or more years of applied technical experience desired. Handle the design and construction of scalable management systems, ensure that all data systems meet company requirements, and also research new uses for data acquisition. Required to know and understand the ins and outs of the industry such as data mining practices, algorithms, and how data can be used.
Primary Responsibilities:
β’ Design, construct, install, test and maintain data management systems.
β’ Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes.
β’ Ensure that all systems meet the business/company requirements as well as industry practices.
β’ Integrate up-and-coming data management and software engineering technologies into existing data structures.
β’ Develop set processes for data mining, data modeling, and data production.
β’ Create custom software components and analytics applications.
β’ Research new uses for existing data.
β’ Employ an array of technological languages and tools to connect systems together.
β’ Collaborate with members of your team (eg, data architects, the IT team, data scientists) on the projectβs goals.
β’ Install/update disaster recovery procedures.
β’ Recommend different ways to constantly improve data reliability and quality.
Qualifications:
β’ Technical Degree or related work experience
β’ Experience with non-relational & relational databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc.)
β’ Experience programming and/or architecting a back end language (Java, J2EE, etc)
1. Snowflake β Modern data warehousing
1. dbt β SQL-based transformations, testing, and documentation.
1. DataStage β Legacy ETL support during migration.
1. SQL β Advanced queries and optimization.
1. ETL/ELT Development β Pipeline design and orchestration.
1. CI/CD β Git-based deployment and automation
Nice-to-have technical skill set:
β’ AWS / Azure / GCP β Cloud storage, compute, and IAM fundamentals.
β’ Python & Shell scripting β Automation and data processing.
β’ Data Modeling β Normalized and dimensional models.
β’ Data Validation Frameworks β e.g., dbt tests or Great Expectations.
β’ Metadata Management β Cataloging and lineage tracking.
β’ REST / SOAP APIs β Integration with external systems
