This hands-on consulting role supports a fast-paced energy management team focused on data engineering, data pipelines, data warehousing, and ETRM systems. The ideal candidate will have expert-level experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS, knowledge of energy trading processes, and strong skills in Python, data modeling, and data warehousing best practices.
Required Qualifications & Experience
β’ Expert-level experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, query optimization, performance tuning, stored procedures, and ETL development using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
β’ Strong experience developing and maintaining reporting solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or comparable enterprise reporting platforms.
β’ Hands-on experience working with Oracle databases, including data extraction, integration, performance analysis, and SQL development.
β’ Proficiency in Python development, with a focus on data engineering, ETL processes, API integrations, automation, and data transformation workflows.
β’ Strong understanding of Python data analysis and processing libraries, including Pandas, NumPy, and related frameworks used for large-scale data manipulation and analytics.
β’ Experience designing, building, and supporting data pipelines that integrate data from multiple internal and external systems.
β’ Working knowledge of business intelligence and data visualization tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau, including dashboard development, reporting, and data storytelling.
β’ Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate, to support workflow automation, business process improvement, and low-code application development.
β’ Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and best practices for data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
β’ Experience working with time-series data, market data, pricing models, forecasting models, or financial and commodity trading datasets preferred.
β’ Ability to assess, cleanse, validate, and integrate large datasets from diverse sources
β’ Experience supporting Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) platforms and an understanding of energy market operations, trading processes, scheduling, settlements, or risk management is highly desirable.
β’ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
β’ Experience creating, maintaining, and improving technical documentation, data dictionaries, process documentation, and operational procedures.

β’ Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related discipline/experience
