Data Engineer (Platform) – Cloudera / AWS 📍 Manchester (Remote/Hybrid) | 📅 3-Month Contract | Contract Details • Duration: 3 months (parental leave cover) • Location: Manchester (Remote / Hybrid) - with occasional travel • Start Date: ASAP • Rate: £521 Per Day PAYE | £691 Umbrella We are currently seeking a Data Engineer (Platform) to support a high-performing engineering team on a 3-month contract covering parental leave. This role will be part of a platform team responsible for maintaining and improving a data analytics platform built on Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) running on AWS, supporting the Transport / Trips business unit. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong data platform and cloud experience to work within a collaborative and fast-paced engineering environment. Key Responsibilities • Collaborate with platform engineers to support customer, security, and compliance requirements • Diagnose and resolve production platform issues • Perform platform upgrades, maintenance, and operational improvements • Respond effectively to requests and incidents from customers and internal teams • Participate in Agile ceremonies and technical discussions • Support the stability, scalability, and reliability of the data analytics platform Required Skills & Experience • Strong experience with Cloudera Data Platform (CDP) on AWS or recent Hadoop administration on a similar platform • Experience with AWS administration • Hands-on experience with at least one of the following: • Apache Ranger • Impala • Apache Spark • Apache Airflow • AWS CDK • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments • Experience using collaboration tools such as Jira and Slack Nice to Have • Experience with Power BI
