Barbican, London | Hybrid (1 day per week in office) Fixed-Term Contract – 9 Months | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) Competitive Salary (Dependent on Experience) We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK organisation seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join their Technology team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a data-driven environment where you will play a key role in connecting systems, optimising data flows, and enabling high-quality reporting and analytics across the business. Key Responsibilities β€’ Implement and manage data flows connecting operational systems to analytics and BI platforms β€’ Document clear source-to-target mappings to ensure consistency and data integrity β€’ Re-engineer manual data processes to improve scalability and efficiency β€’ Support development of data streaming and integration solutions β€’ Write and optimise ELT scripts and related code β€’ Develop reusable BI reports and structured datasets β€’ Design accessible, well-organised data models to support reporting and analysis Essential Skills & Experience β€’ Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) β€’ Advanced SQL skills β€’ Experience with cloud database platforms such as Azure SQL Database or Snowflake β€’ Proven experience in relational database design and performance tuning for BI solutions β€’ Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (Product Owners, Architects, third-party vendors) β€’ Strong problem-solving and communication skills Desirable Experience β€’ Experience with on-premise platforms such as MS SQL Server β€’ Knowledge of data migration strategies (on-premise to cloud) β€’ Experience documenting technical designs and architecture proposals β€’ Familiarity with DataOps practices (automated testing, pipeline optimisation) β€’ Understanding of data governance, GDPR, data masking, and securing sensitive data What’s on Offer β€’ Competitive salary package β€’ Hybrid working model β€’ Health and wellbeing benefits β€’ Pension options β€’ Retail discounts β€’ Access to fitness and lifestyle rewards β€’ Supportive and collaborative technology team This is a fantastic opportunity for a Data Engineer looking to contribute to impactful, large-scale data initiatives within a modern cloud environment.
