Data Engineer

Our client, a leader in digital music streaming, is hiring a remote Senior Data Engineer to join their team! • • This is a 6-month W2 contract with benefits • • As the Senior Data Engineer, you will join the company’s Safe-and-Sound centralized Safety team within the AI Foundations Studio, building and scaling backend and data systems that power key personalization features such as Search, Home, podcast recommendations, and GenAI products like AI Playlisting. You will deliver production-quality data pipelines and services at scale while partnering closely with Product, Trust & Safety, and Tech Research teams to enhance content safety and user experience. Responsibilities: • Design technical specifications in partnership with product stakeholders • Build and maintain large-scale, production-quality data pipelines • Architect, develop, deploy, and operate highly distributed backend and data services serving millions of users • Act as a technical leader within the team and contribute to company-wide backend/data architecture standards • Collaborate within an autonomous, cross-functional agile team • Participate in hack days and bi-annual hack weeks to prototype and innovate Desired Skills: • Proven experience delivering end-to-end backend and/or data solutions at scale • Strong background in designing modular architectures and technical specifications in ambiguous problem spaces • Expertise with Ray, Hendrix, Scio, Java, Python, dbt, BigQuery, and SQL Motion Recruitment Partners is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.
