Role description

Join our client's team as a Data Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data-driven decision-making. This position is based on-site, with opportunities available in Seattle, WA; Arlington, VA; Dallas, TX; and Austin, TX. In this role, you'll contribute to delivering high-quality data, reusable tools, and analytics reporting. Your work will empower engineers and consumers to independently develop, access, and analyze data while maintaining a high degree of data privacy and integrity.

Responsibilities:

   • Architect, develop and maintain end to end scalable data infrastructure and data pipelines

   • Work closely with business owners, developers, Business Intelligence Engineers to explore new data sources and deliver the data.

   • Empower the team for self-servicing by providing the necessary skills to handle complex tasks independently.

   • Ensure that the team can efficiently manage and troubleshoot data-related issues, leading to increased autonomy and productivity along with fostering a culture of self-reliance.

Requirements:

   • 7+ years of data engineering experience

   • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

   • Experience with SQL

   • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS

   • Experience with distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing

   • Experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.

   • A good candidate can partner with business owners directly to understand their requirements and provide data which can help them observe patterns and spot anomalies.

Preferred Requirements:

   • Experience working on and delivering end to end projects independently

   • Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring other engineers for best practices on data engineering

   • 10+ years of data engineering experience

   • 2+ years of Experience with developing data solutions on AWS

   • Expertise in Orchestration/dependency management with Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions, AWS Glue and/or AWS Lambda
