Role description
Position Summary
The PI System Developer / Data Integration Engineer will play a pivotal role in supporting operational data systems during a period of rapid growth. This position will help with ongoing day-to-day responsibilities while ensuring data pipelines remain reliable, secure, and optimized for plant performance and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, configure, and optimize AVEVA PI System components, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
• Develop integrations and automations using Java and Python to support data flow between PI and other enterprise systems.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance data pipelines that support real-time plant operations and analytics.
• Build or refine custom solutions using PI Vision, PI Analytics, or PI Integrators for visualization and reporting.
• Collaborate with plant engineers, IT teams, and data analysts to ensure accurate and consistent data collection and presentation.
• Support ongoing digital transformation and industrial IoT initiatives tied to operational excellence and asset performance monitoring.
• Ensure best practices for data governance, cybersecurity, and system configuration are consistently applied.
Technical Expertise:
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with AVEVA PI System (formerly OSIsoft) including configuration, architecture, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Java and Python for building integrations, automations, and custom solutions.
• Strong working knowledge of PI Vision, PI Analytics, and PI Integrators, or equivalent tools in data science, industrial IoT, or cybersecurity.
• Familiarity with power generation or industrial operations environments is strongly preferred.
Soft Skills:
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across IT, engineering, and operations teams.
• Self-starter with a proactive attitude and attention to detail.
