Job Title: Senior Data Engineer (Power Platform / PowerApps)
Location: Oakland, CA / San Ramon, CA (Hybrid – 1-2 times/month onsite)
Duration: 10 Months
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps) and data integration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with Dataverse, building scalable data solutions, and collaborating with business stakeholders in a customer-facing environment. Experience in utilities or energy domain is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain PowerApps solutions to support business needs
• Work extensively with Dataverse, including schema design, security, and integrations
• Build and manage data pipelines and ETL processes across multiple systems
• Integrate backend systems using Power Platform technologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements
• Ensure secure and efficient data flow across platforms
• Deploy and support machine learning models in production environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data and application issues
• Follow best practices in software engineering (CI/CD, unit testing, source control)
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering / ETL ecosystem
• Strong hands-on experience with PowerApps / Power Platform
• Solid understanding of Dataverse (CDS)
• Experience with tools like Informatica, Spark, Palantir Foundry, SAP BODS, OBIEE (any)
• Knowledge of data integration, pipelines, and data architecture
• Experience with machine learning deployment is a plus
• Strong communication skills with client/customer-facing experience
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, unit testing, and version control
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Additional Notes:
• Local candidates within California are strongly preferred
• Candidates should be comfortable working in a hybrid model
• Prior experience in utilities/energy domain (PG&E or similar) is a plus
