Role description
Data Engineer needed for an immediate contract role remote in the US, to start January 5th.
Our client is a fast growing Insurance brokerage company looking to expand their data and analytics team. Seeking minimum 4 years experience with the following technology within the insurance industry. This is a 6 month role to start with potential for extensions or possibly conversion in the future. This is a remote role in the US that must be able to accommodate EST schedule.
This role is not open to any third party candidates.
Job Overview: Seeking a talented Data Engineer with a passion for teamwork. This position is a member of the Technology Data & Analytics Team. The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, data transformation and data models and support data processing, storage, and analysis.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Perform data analysis to understand business requirements and design solutions to meet needs.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration and analysis.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Ensure data quality and integrity by performing data cleansing, validation, and standardization.
• Assist with maintaining database architecture and data processing systems.
• Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 4 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Strong SQL background and ability to write efficient queries.
• Experience with general insuretech and agency management solutions.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with Git, dbt and snowflake.
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Ability to work remotely, independently and in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with machine learning and data visualization tools.
