Role description
URGENT REQUIREMENT — SC ELIGIBLE DATA ENGINEER CONTRACTS Multiple roles · Mid-level, Senior & Lead · Hybrid (UK) 📌 £450–£600 per day (Inside IR35, dependent on experience) 📌 Initial 12-month SOW with a long-term programme roadmap (2–3 years) 📌 Primarily remote with occasional travel to the Midlands (up to 2 days/month) 📌 SC Eligibility is required Hanover are building multiple Data Engineering teams to support a major long-term Central Government programme. The programme focuses on designing and delivering scalable cloud-based data solutions within high-performing Agile delivery teams. We are hiring across mid-level, senior and lead positions. What you’ll be doing: – Designing, building and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines – Working with structured data sources to support analytics and downstream services – Developing solutions within modern cloud environments – Collaborating within Agile engineering teams in fast-paced delivery settings – Improving data quality, reliability and platform performance – Contributing to engineering best practice and knowledge sharing across teams What we’re looking for: – Proven background as a Data Engineer within complex delivery environments – Strong ETL/ELT experience – Experience with AWS, Oracle, PL/SQL and/or PostgreSQL – Strong SQL and data modelling fundamentals – Comfortable operating within delivery-focused Agile teams under tight timescales – UK Central Government experience highly desirable; banking or other high-transaction enterprise environments also considered
